How Much Does a Pallet of Sod Cover?

A pallet of sod most commonly covers 450 square feet (about 42 m²) — usually 45 rolls of 2×5 ft. Pallets range from 400 to 500 sq ft depending on the farm, so confirm before ordering.

A full pallet weighs 1,500–3,000 lb depending on moisture — plan where the truck can set it down, close to the work. Sod is perishable and should be installed the day it arrives.

For a typical yard, divide your measured area (plus 5% for trimming) by the farm's stated pallet coverage and round up; leftover pieces patch the inevitable thin spots along edges.
